Didgfest 2007 - A celebration of the Australian Didgeridoo.
An umbrella event of the Castlemaine State Festival
Didgfest 2007 will showcase performers Andrew Langford and the Sounds of Starlight Theatre (Alice Springs), Indigenous didgeridoo musician Ron Murray and Celtic Australian fiddler and vocalist Sarah James who together are Kinja, Nationally respected Didge player and quality maker Bruce Rogers, contemporary writer, Didge performer and comedian Scot Gardner and all round Didgeridoo maker and presenter Stax.
There will also be an introductory novice Didge playing workshop, one for the more experienced and instrument making for kids.
Didgfest Australia supports the CSF Carbon Trust, promotes and respects the proper and licensed removal of trees for the manufacture of the Didgeridoo, promotes Australian Made by Employed Australians and wholeheartedly promotes community inclusion.
10 - 12noon Kids playing and Didge decorating (Take a Didge home with you!)
1 - 2:30pm Workshop for advanced didgeridoo players
1 - 2:30pm Workshop strictly for the beginner or novice didgeridoo player
10am - Close Market stalls (see below) selling only Australian Didgeridoo related items
Market under the stars during the concert.
7pm Showcase concert - cushions recommended
Opening Ceremony and acknowledgement of country with Ron Murray and Auntie Carmel
